THE NASHVILLE WINGNUTS are a husband and wife songwriting duo from Nashville, Tennessee, made up of Chuck and Meg McCarthy. Their songs have been cut by Grammy-nominated and JUNO Award-winning band The Duhks, three-time SPBGMA “Entertaining Group of the Year” winner Nothin’ Fancy, Irish Film and Television Awards-nominated band The Henry Girls, and Americana treasure Jamie Kindlyside, among others. Their song “Old Cook Pot” won a SESAC award for reaching the top ten on the Americana charts. Their song “Love was Just a Word”, cowritten with Shawn Byrne, won the grand prize for the 2020 American Songwriter Lyric Contest. They play their songs and sell their original art at coffee houses, restaurants, and house concerts.
